Discharge is planned and coordinated with the patient, family and all relevant agencies. Planning for discharge will take into account the patient’s psychological, medical, social and educational requirements. When a date has been decided, the patient and their family will be notified. Primarily, your nurse will assist you in the discharge process which may take few hours to complete the process. Once your final bill is generated, you are expected to clear your dues. The patient’s and/or their family will be given a discharge letter at the point of leaving, which will be explained and discussed. Any pre-arranged follow up appointments on an outpatient basis will be detailed in this letter.
